DaiKaiJyu / 大怪獣

Giant monsters are closing in on the city.

DaiKaiJyu is a 3D action prototype about defending a destructible city from huge monsters. Play solo or team up in online co-op for up to 4 players.

Find an opening. Target a weak point. Hold the line.

Watch how monsters move and attack, target vulnerable parts, and keep them from advancing through the city. The battlefield changes as buildings are damaged and the fighting spreads.

Work in progress

This is an early playable prototype. Monsters, equipment, missions, visuals and balance are still being developed. More content is planned, and the current content may change.

Getting started

Free demo: Play the Pumpkin operation on Easy, without a time limit. Download the file marked DEMO below. The paid version includes the other operations and Normal and Hard difficulty.

Extract the entire ZIP and launch DaiKaiJyu.exe. Choose an operation and start with Easy. The in-game Controls and Bestiary are available from the briefing screen and pause menu.

Online co-op (in development)

Up to 4 players, including the host. Each player needs their own Windows PC, an internet connection, and the same version and edition of the itch.io build. Full and demo players cannot join each other.

Open Co-op from the briefing screen. Enter a player name and, to play with friends, agree on a keyword. One player should click Join first and wait until they enter a room; the others then join with the same keyword. Leave the keyword blank to find a public waiting room. If no suitable room is available, a new one is created.

The host chooses the operation and difficulty. Everyone selects Ready, then the host deploys. Controls and graphics quality are chosen separately on each PC. The demo supports co-op on Pumpkin / Easy. The room closes if the host leaves. Co-op is still being developed; connection stability can vary by network.

Requirements and development status

• Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit; Vulkan-capable GPU
• Keyboard and mouse; solo or online co-op for up to 4 players
• English and Japanese. The first launch uses English; switch languages in the top-right of the briefing screen.
• In-development preview 0.1.4-preview / itch.io. Minimum CPU, RAM and GPU performance have not yet been established.
• Standard graphics quality limits internal 3D rendering to 720p height on large displays while keeping the HUD sharp. High quality remains available. No mid-operation save feature.
• Contains insects and spiders, body-horror imagery, destruction, explosions and flashes.

『大怪獣 / DaiKaiJyu』は、巨大怪獣の侵攻から街を守る3D防衛アクションの試作です。ソロ、または最大4人のオンライン協力プレイで戦えます。

隙を見極め、弱点を狙い、侵攻を食い止める。

怪獣の動きや攻撃を観察し、弱点を狙って迎撃。建物が壊れ、戦いの広がりとともに変わっていく市街地で、防衛を続けてください。

開発中のプレイ可能なプロトタイプ

怪獣や装備、作戦、描画、ゲームバランスは現在も制作・調整中です。今後の内容追加を予定しており、現在の仕様も変更される場合があります。

はじめて遊ぶ方へ

無料体験版：大南瓜の作戦をイージーでプレイできます。時間制限はありません。下の「DEMO / 体験版」ファイルをダウンロードしてください。その他の作戦とノーマル・ハードは製品版に含まれます。

ZIPをフォルダーごと展開し、DaiKaiJyu.exeを起動してください。好きな作戦を選び、まずはイージーで出撃。詳しい遊び方はブリーフィングや一時停止メニューの「操作説明」「怪獣図鑑」で確認できます。

オンライン協力プレイ（開発中）

ホストを含め最大4人。各プレイヤーにWindows PCとインターネット接続が必要です。全員が同じバージョン・同じ製品版／体験版のitch.ioビルドを使用してください。製品版と体験版は一緒に参加できません。

出撃準備画面の「協力プレイ」を開き、プレイヤー名を入力します。友達と遊ぶ場合は合言葉を決め、最初の1人が「参加する」を押して部屋に入った後、ほかの人も同じ合言葉で参加してください。合言葉が空欄なら公開の待機部屋を探し、入れる部屋がなければ新しい部屋を作ります。

ホストが作戦・難易度を選び、全員が「準備完了」にしてからホストが出撃します。操作方法と画質は各PCで選べます。体験版でも大南瓜・イージーの協力プレイが可能です。ホストが退出すると部屋は終了します。協力プレイは開発中のため、回線環境によって接続が不安定になる場合があります。

動作環境・開発状況

• Windows 10 / 11（64bit）、Vulkan対応GPU
• キーボードとマウス／日本語・英語／ソロ・最大4人のオンライン協力プレイ
• 初回起動は英語です。ブリーフィング右上で「日本語」に切り替えられます。
• 開発中プレビュー 0.1.4-preview / itch.io。最低CPU・メモリー・GPU性能は未計測です。
• 標準画質は大画面で内部3D描画を高さ720pxまでに抑え、HUDの鮮明さを維持します。高画質も選べます。作戦途中の保存には対応していません。
• 虫・蜘蛛、肉塊などのホラー表現、破壊・爆発・閃光を含みます。
